Management of the Centre

Kennedy Road Kiddy Kare is a not-for-profit corporation managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The executive director of the centre is responsible for the daily running of the child care and will attend monthly board meetings to present, discuss and review the activities and concerns of the past month. These meetings provide a forum to ensure the philosophy and goals of the program are being met, resolving any matters of concern, and ensuring the financial integrity of the corporation is maintained.
The Toddler and Preschool/ Kindergarten Staff includes three Registered Early Educators and three assistants. The School Age staff includes two Registered Early Childhood Educators and one Part time support staff who works in all the rooms. The centre is also represented by a Board of Directors.
As a parent, you have the right to be kept informed of all pertinent information regarding the centre’s activities. In order for the board members to communicate with you, they will need access to your phone numbers. Your phone numbers will be kept confidential and will be used solely when needed, for the operation of the centre.
Parents’ suggestions and questions are welcome throughout the year.
Our Facility
Kennedy Road Kiddy Kare has a licensed capacity for 64 children. Admission of new children is coordinated by the Director based on a waiting list established in accordance with the following priorities:
- Children currently enrolled in a program
- Siblings of children in the program
Centre Closings
The Centre will be closed on the following days: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday (August), Labour Day, Truth and Reconciliation Day, Thanksgiving Day and Family Day.
In addition the centre will be closed the week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. These dates fluctuate each year and will be announced. The nursery program does not operate on professional development days, March break or Christmas break.
The child care centre will remain open on Professional development days.
