ALL DAY AND AFTER SCHOOL DAYCARE IN TORONTO
At Kennedy Road Kiddy Kare, we offer a variety of child care programs based on the child’s age. Each program is designed specifically for children in that age group and will help them to learn and grow in the ways best for them. All of our programs allow the children to spend time outside on a daily basis, weather permitting, and the foyer of our centre is equipped with a variety of activities to use during inclement weather. All the age groups will be using the HiMama application to further their communication with parents.
Toddler Program
This program focuses on the overall development of the child with a focus on social and self-help skills. It is offered from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The programming and implementation is based on the needs and interests of the children. Children will participate in a variety of crafts, cognitive games, sensory activities, learning circles, dramatic play and other planned activities. Time is spent outdoors daily in our enclosed playground with a variety of bicycles, sand toys and sports equipment.
All children will have a portfolio which will be completed based on daily observation of the children and will include setting up goals as well as pictures of their involvement in daily activities. The observation will be shared with parents.
Preschool Program
Our preschool program focuses on the overall development of the child with a focus on social skills in the first half of the school year. The programming and implementation is based on the needs and interests of the children. Our Registered Early Childhood Educators focus on getting your child ready for kindergarten with planned numeracy and literacy activities. Learning is play based both inside and outside the classroom.
Activities are planned through the observations of the children and therefore are designed with the children’s interests and needs in mind. Children enrolled full time are offered breakfast from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM, along with 2 light snacks and a hot lunch. There is an option for part time care from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Kindergarten Before and After Program
The before and after school kindergarten program is offered to children in junior and senior kindergarten. Children that attend are offered a light breakfast between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. The programming and implementation is based on the needs and interests of the children.
Escorting Children To & From School
We escort children to and from school, making sure they arrive on time. We will escort all kindergarten, and school aged children safely to two schools located in our community, Corvette Junior Public School and St. Maria Goretti Catholic School.
Before and After School Program
The before and after school program is offered to children in grades 1 through 6. It provides a safe and fun environment for your child. Children that attend in the morning are offered a breakfast between the hours of 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. We encourage children to do homework, but it is not forced.
Kennedy Road Kiddy Kare Summer Programs
Kennedy Road Kiddy Kare offers a summertime experience to children between the ages of 18 Months and 12 years old. Our primary goal is to provide your child with a fun and safe summer. We offer a quality program with trained, qualified staff from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All activities are planned with your child’s interest and abilities in mind. The program meets all the requirements of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA).
Daily Nutritious Meals
Following the Canada Food Guide and the Child Care Early Years Act, your child will receive a nutritious meal each day. We rotate the menu every 4 weeks, offering a variety of foods from different countries. A morning and afternoon snack, along with hot lunch, is provided for toddlers and the preschool group. We will provide morning and afternoon snacks for the school age program. Parents are responsible for providing lunch for school age children. Our staff is also very allergy conscious, ensuring your child has a happy, healthy lunch. Feel free to contact us about any dietary concerns you have about your child.
